MilSim Airsoft!

MilSim or Military Simulation airsoft is a game variant which focuses on three areas:
  • Accurate representation of real military loadouts, including camouflage, gear and weaponry, and often heavy weapon props.
  • Accurate representation of military infantry and motorized infantry tactics
  • Following a pre-defined chain of command
The experience of milsim is offering as much realism as airsoft can possibly provide. Even within MilSim there are different flavors, some people prefer the collecting part and wear full loadout, others utilize well coordinated squad tactics. Others may focus on all 3. Milsim players are fun to play with or to play against.

One thing to expect is training and committment

Budget - How much will playing cost me?

If you consider playing milsim airsoft, I would recommend holding off on buying gear and doing research instead. Chances are, you will join a team and will be simulating a specific military unit in a specific role (ex: US Marine rifleman). This will require special camouflage and gear, sometimes obtained through specialized retailers. Expect to buy gear not mentioned anywhere on this site and pay premium prices for recoil weaponry and scopes.

You may also consider holding off on buying gear yourself because your team leader may be managing this to ensure consistent loadout for the team.

I would estimate paying no less than 1000$ for the gear and equipment.

Equipment - What will I need to play?

While you will still need most of the gear listed below, you may also need additional pieces or props. Therefore I cannot easily estimate the investment just yet.
